We're IN!

We officially in residence at the lovely little grey house!

Moving in has been a bit rough - I stopped by with the kids last Thursday to see if some boxes could be unpacked and we've never left.

Which meant total chaos. It's kind of like camping. Except with less fresh air and more comfortable beds. And two insane monkeys.
Unfortunately, this meant several days without a dishwasher or 'net connection, no table or chairs, and we just got Nate's change table set up last night.

Which has made for some interesting situations, given that he is still recovering from a GI infection and refuses to lie still.

Too much information?

Let's just say that I don't have a working washing machine either. And may have to start wearing a clothespin on my nose.

The good news is that the couch doesn't have legs on it yet. This means that Nate can climb on the couch whenever he wants.

It's the cutest thing ever.
I was trying to console a weepy Mela the other day and passed by the living room to see Nate, digging into her hummus while relaxing in style.
Funny the little things that you discover once you move into a new place.

I knew that it was a sunny house. I just hadn't imagined the sun shining on my daughter's face as she warms up after a cold morning outside.
And how could I not notice that the kitchen floor is perfect for hopscotch? Mela, of course, got to work right away.
The good news is that Nate's finally starting to feel better from the stomach bug (just as Mela's getting worse), although they're both still miserable with colds.

We could tell he was recovering when he tried to eat an entire slice of pizza in one bite.
He's also back into dancing. His favourite new/old toy is a fridge thing that plays music. He wiggles like a maniac.
He also tries to climb on things whenever possible:
At least he's been a great help to his father around the house:
Mela mostly just tries to ignore her loud brother (other than occasionally screaming, "It's not fair!") and read a book (check out the new love of backpacks, Aunt Cathi!):
Nate shows that he can be intellectual, too:
Overall, the situation is rough, but it works:
Lunchtime in our new sunny kitchen!

Love the sunny kitchen! Hopscotch on the floor, that's awesome. I don't know who that big kid is in those pictures, but he's really cute and he and Jenny would have LOTS of fun spinning and dancing while screaming at the tops of their little lungs. What isn't fair to poor Mela?! Can't wait til she gets that backpack now, so happy.
Felicitations on your grand home!

Man, does Nate ever look like Jim Riehle in those glasses and overalls. Too cute.
