Could be much worse ...

Had some really good days lately (Friday and Saturday) - seems like Mela has finally turned the corner on the teething (hoorah!) and Nathan actually slept (gasp!) in the evenings instead of fussing the whole time.

Of course, last night was worse than ever (why is this child incapable of doing anything except crying from 8 until midnight??!) but I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's hope it's not a train.

Talked to a mom this morning at the drop-in who is a very similar situation. She has a newborn (10 weeks) and a 2 year old. The thing is, her little baby boy doesn't sleep at all during the day until around 3 pm and by then her toddler daughter wakes up from her nap, so she basically doesn't get to sleep at all during the day. Ever. And her baby does sleep in the early evenings but then is up for long stretches at night.

So basically, she doesn't sleep. Not surprisingly, she's now sick. But her husband can't take any time off work because it's his year-end.

The circles under her eyes looked so bad, I was afraid she might keel over right there on the spot.

I was so upset for her, I actually offered to take her daughter to the park some day so she could sleep. Not sure how I'd manage that exactly but somebody needs to do something. Thank god she graciously declined.

But I don't think anyone understands unless you've been through it yourself.

Four more days until Halloween! Can't wait to dress Mela up and see her glare at all the scary kids who come to our door ...

I am such a sucker for bunny slippers.

I think Jenny has four pairs. No, wait, one of them is kittens.
