Daily battles and small accomplishments
No time to post.
Defiant toddler during the days, fussy newborn at nights (and sometimes during the days).
There are daily battles in this war and there are small accomplishments. Right now, the battles are outweighing the victories.
In terms of positives, went to the grocery store today with the double stroller. It was the first time I've taken them out like that (needed the big stroller basket) and although Nathan cried at the beginning, he eventually fell asleep and didn't wake up again until we were almost home. It was stressful, like most outings but we did it.
In terms of battles, it seems like all Mela and I do now is fight. I can't tell how much of it is because she is at the age of "testing limits" (also called, "trying to see how many times Mom has to say no in one day") or if some of it is related to Nathan's arrival. She never seems jealous when I hold him and other friends tells me that their 18 month old angels have turned to devils also, so maybe it's all just normal development.
I am fervently counting down to Nathna's 3 months birthday, since 3 - 4 months is when supposedly all the newborn troubles go away and I might actually get to sleep again.
Four weeks seems like an awfully long time away right now, though.
In case you're ever thinking of it, don't ever have a second child. Especialy don't do it when the older one is 18 months, though I'm not sure how easy it is to have a 3 year old either (we're going to wait and see what Allison has to say!).
The bright side: Nathan is darned cute.
p.s. Congratulations to Andrew and Jenny! They have now officially passed through the looking glass to the other side (also called "parenting"). You will never see things the same way again. God help you.
Weekly pics:
Mela runs from the camera now for some reason ... No photos, please!Checking out Nathan's "new" chair (don't you remember it, Mela?)
One ponytail's enough, Mom!
Umm, I know I outgrow things quickly but don't you think this snowsuit is a litttllle big?
Hmm, it is pretty good for sleeping, though:
How to tell you're bored: climbing stairs to nowhere:
Tummy time for Nathan (who surprisingly hates it less than Mela):
I don't know where she thinks she's going:
Julia visits for tea (the cookies are the best part!):Our little buddy:
