The mice will play
The snow is gone now and the in-laws have flown south. We're left here to our own devices, which is both good and bad.
Yesterday was glorious. The Director was home sick (Man Cold) from work, so the girls left the boys at home and went to a local park with friends.
Funny how in TO you have to drive for an hour to get to a beautiful lake with camping and here, you have to drive 10 minutes.
It's a hard life.
Mela spent an inordinate amount of time in my arms, though. We went there so she could run around in the fresh air but she kept asking to be carried.
I thought maybe she was being wimpy and almost got tough with her. Then the burning fever last night made things a lot more clear.
Glad I went with the gut on that one.
She seems a little better today but every fever is slightly terrifying these days, since we haven't been able to get the H1 shots yet.
I don't even know why I mention when we're sick. Until further notice, just assume one or more of us is sick.
The *best* part is when both kids are cranky. Chris didn't exactly get much relaxing in yesterday, poor guy. It was either that or find a foster family on short notice. The good news is that it gives him greater insight into why I'm such a wreck some days when he gets home from work.
6:30 pm means I've been at it 12 hrs and have nothing left. Bedtime is joyous sometimes.
It is nice to be alone as a family again, though.
And the in-laws shouldn't worry ... we're keeping things clean:
