C&C
Today Amelia and I visited with Caren and Cayla. They live in Toronto but on the other side of the city, so despite being good friends and talking often, we've only seen Cayla once since she was born (now 3 months old). Hard to believe. So today we spent the afternoon together and had a great time. Something about being with another mom just really helps a lot. Amelia also likes to pretend to be an angelic baby when she's out somewhere new (very quiet and observant mostly).
In the world of motherhood, I've heard (and observed) that fellow moms can be quite competitive, focussed on their own baby and even a little catty (e.g. "My, your baby's quite big, isn't she? And her skin is very dark, isn't it?"). I have no time for that. That's why it's so great to be surrounded by great friends who are totally supportive, fun and understanding.
Yay for good moms!
Cayla and Amelia:
There's nothing like someone else's swing!
