A bit of splashing, a bit of fussing, and a lot of stink!

(Pic: Beautiful Mela at the park today ... with cheeks full of stolen grapes!)

We're mostly better here now.

Of course, Nate's sleep training is totally ruined and he refuses to fall asleep on his own now though. Part of the problem is that he's going through that phase where he doesn't know how to sit down, too, so he just stands in his crib and sobs bitterly.

He still has a bit of a cold too, so I just don't have the heart to let him cry it out. I tried yesterday, actually (went in the backyard and worked out) and when I came back in, he was just ultra-pissed, soaking wet (from sweat!) and still crying.

The whole cry-it-out thing has never worked super well with Nate. It's like he stays awake just out of spite.

So we have a cranky baby on and off during the days and nights.

Other than that, time is FLYING by! It's just over 6 weeks until we move!! Did I mention that we're moving to Nova Scotia at the end of August?? Apparently we are ... and it's happening at a lightning speed.

We've got the big stuff arranged now (movers, packers, storage, gave notice, etc) but have a LOT to do still between now and then.

And what with working part-time, taking care of the primates, trying to run a household and enjoy a bit of the summer ... I have no idea how it's going to happen.

Crunch time.

Had a lovely day today, though ... found a rare working splash pad! Apparently the city turned this one park's water on before the terrible strike started (god help us, you should smell our back room full of diapers!).

We hiked there and spent a lovely morning playing in the water. Nate had to sacrifice his morning nap (which meant I had to sacrifice my sanity once we got home) but it was totally worth it.

Now if only they'd end the strike so we can splash closer to home (and get rid of the stink before we move!!) ...

They switched seats for lunch one day. It was funny (Nate looked so grown-up!). The end.
She likes to watch TV like this. God knows how it's comfortable:

Such a big girl now, eating her carrot sticks and dip so neatly!
Spaghetti lunch:
Nate showing off his mad sippy cup skills:
Aunt Mary, why'd you dress me like such a dork?!
I love a baby in just a diaper (By the way, notice how Nathan hasn't exactly gone through the crawling slim-down?! At this age, Mela was a string bean. Nate's a tank!):
Sleepy girl with a cold:
She calls this the Penguin Dance. It's hilarious:
Even after the water shut off, the kids made the most of the water at the splash pad:
Nate having a great time:
He even held his own with a 16 month old!
