Update from the Baby Front
Good weekend, although things aren't quite as smooth now as they were last week.
Good Baby Nathan has suddenly decided that he doesn't really like falling asleep, especially when it involves not having a boob in his mouth. Since I can't really doze while serving as a human pacifier, this has resulted in a lot of frustration, as well as a serious lack of sleep for the mama.
Fingers crossed that things get back on track.
Despite that, we managed to have some fun this weekend, including lots of socializing with friends (car trip for a BBQ at Melanie and Brian's- so adventurous!, coffee with the Hearn-Burke's, dinner with Angela, David and Rowan, etc). Got to see some siblings (Mary and Jimmy stayed with us last night on their way back from USA) and even managed to make it to Value Village today for their 50% sale (got some awesome outfits for like, $1.50 each!).
Hard to keep track of what day it is, though - I keep losing my sense of time. As I said to my little sister when we were leaving the house today: "You know you have a newborn when 1) you're not sure what day of the week it is, 2) you can't remember the last time you left the house, 3) you look down at your clothes and can't even remember when you changed them last.
Oh, and apparently Mela is teething. Has been waking up in the evenings the last couple nights and crying. I hit a new low in parenting tonight when I was laying in bed paralyzed, trying to decide which crying baby to soothe.
This is the stuff that attachment parenting doesn't prepare you for.
Hopefully we'll get a bit of sleep tonight and I'll be able to make it up to Mela tomorrow with a special trip to the park.
Although I may have Baby Nathan attached at the boob.
Going for brunch with two kids - who says you can't have a life with a newborn?!
