It's Family Day every day ... but without the holiday

Awesome weekend.

Yesterday was the result of the Ontario Government's wild promises during the last election: a long weekend in February! It's called Family Day which sounded lame at the time but an extra holiday in the middle of winter really helps with the no-see-the-sun-about-to-cry-from-the-damn-cold depression.

And what's better to celebrate than family?!

We had a little party as a belated celebration of Dada's birthday and as an excuse to get together with friends (and force us to clean our bathroom).

It was great! The toddlers took turns eating treats (whole wheat fig newtons!), stealing toys and having little meltdowns. The big boy babies (Nathan and Harrison) showed off their impressive sitting skills and newborn baby Eavan wowed the crowd by not making a sound the entire time.

Mela seemed out of sorts during the party (couldn't actually eat her fig newton, although she did carry it around and give it little kisses from time to time) and then last night, revealed herself to be sick. (I'll spare the diaper description.)

Nathan seems to have the same bug now too although his sleep the last few nights has been groundbreaking (don't excited too soon!). He did wake up this morning with a big cut on his face, too, which I have no clue about (scratched himself in his sleep?).

So today we have a clean house, some yummy leftovers and two cranky kids.

Right now the kids are watching the Wiggles (Nathan seems particularly enthralled) while Mama eats leftover Lady Laurier cheese (SO GOOD!) and checks her email.

Hey, at least the laundry's done!

Mela can put her hands in her pockets!: It gets a little boring at 7 am before the others get up. Let's take pictures! Hi Mom! They told us to familiarize Nathan with baby sunglasses before the research study this week - I think he likes them. Mama actually gets a snuggle for once! The boys at the Family Day party: Baby Eavan's excited:
Look at how well Nathan can sit now!!!
Aunt Mary is fun to play with!
As Mary pointed out, there were as many kids as adults (7 of each)! Chow down: Nathan and Dad play with monkey: Reading time: Cupcake for the birthday boy: Aunt Mary: "Hi, I'm Kim Rector. Let me do your taxes!" The sickly one: Nathan "Scar Face" experiencing some banana: Kisses for Brother: Aunt Mary gets mad at Senor for always pooping on her: Washing the dirty one: Doesn't that picture remind you of another baby ...
