Sickness descends but colic lifts!

The bad news:
We're sick here. Apparently everything has finally caught up with us.

The girls have bad colds and sore throats. I think we might just watch the Treehouse channel all day and eat bunny crackers.

The good news:
  • We're not sick over the holidays, especially while travelling (why do I always get sick when I go to Nova Scotia? Like, every time. Must be the salty sea air.)

  • The boys (so far) are unscathed (Nathan seems to have more energy than ever!)

  • I'm still leaving the house and visiting with people (went to a work dinner on Monday night with Ba.Na. and had a great time, despite almost passing out from sickness)
And the best news of all ...
  • I think we've passed the colic finish line!!!

I didn't want to say anything too early but the past three nights IN A ROW, Baby Nathan has actually "gone to bed" at a relatively decent time (e.g. 8 pm) and stayed asleep during the evening hours (doesn't wake up until midnight for a feeding). Most importantly, he's NOT CRYING inconsolably all evening long.

And he's becoming a different baby in other ways, too. Not crying in the car. Crying less when we're trying to get him to fall asleep for naps. Smiling all the time. It's amazing.

As you can imagine, this is happy, happy news here on Condor.
I still haven't figured out how to soothe him down to sleep without leaving Mela unattended but the last couple days, my sister Mary has been here which has helped immensely. And I think he's slowly getting the hang of this whole, sleeping-by-himself-without-the-swing world.

And now, let the golden age of babydom begin ...!

Your daily pics:

Mela now likes to scream but is at least modest enough to cover her mouth after she does it:
Mela plays Mommy by changing dolly's diaper:
Then she decided to nurse the baby (I like how she needed to put a cushion behind her back, just like Mom):
Then Mela decided to cover up. How modest:
My baby actually gives snuggles now!
Mela tries on her new snowsuit but doesn't find the fit very flattering:
Playing catch the bears:
Happy Nathan LOVES the jj:
