Leaps and bounds and wombats
The funny thing about development stages for kids is that they can spend weeks and even months trying just to start something and then as soon as they get it a little bit ....
they get it all the way and they're off!
A week ago, Nathan could not move forward on his hands and knees at all. Actually, a week ago, he could hardly stay up on his hands and knees for more than a few seconds. Then, two days after he first crawled a little bit, he can now travel all the way from the living room to kitchen.
Not only that, he crawled up to the dishwasher this afternoon, grabbed the open door, and lifted himself up to standing!
It was like, okay, I mastered the crawling thing ... can I PLEASE walk now?!!
And Mela's talking is the same.
Today I set her down at the table in front of her new alphabet placemat and she pointed at the animals and said, "rhino!" and then "hippo"! Really, they looked the same to me.
The girl who could barely say milk a month ago can now "ibis" and "wombat" and "Penguin, where are you?"
So weird.
p.s. Mela peed in the potty for the first time in her life today!!! Exciting for this household but no one else.

I've never had an egg noodle before but sure, I'll eat it:
The Crawler in action:
Nathan finds a friend to walk him:
